Support Assistant to Class Teacher in Maths (Temporary)

22 hours per week (Monday to Thursday from 8.50 am to 3.10 pm). Term time only (37.6 weeks)

Pay Grade PS3 (FTE £18,013 to £18,957). Starting pro-rata salary £9,209

We are seeking to appoint a proactive, positive and resourceful Class Teacher Support Assistant with a desire to work in a school or education setting. The role is funded by the Department of Work and Pensions access to work scheme. The successful candidate will support and assist the class teacher proactively, anticipating the class teacher’s needs and offering evolving levels of support to ensure that those needs are met. Because of the adaptations that the school has introduced in response to COVID-19 the role may involve carrying the Class Teacher’s equipment around the school as well as looking after the class at the end of a lesson and ensuring that students follow the school’s protocols. There may be a need to cover the class teacher’s break duties and as a result the post holder’s break and lunch duties will be at varying times.

The successful candidate will be expected to mirror the class teacher’s working pattern and to work with all year groups (across bubbles). As the role is based in the mathematics department the ideal candidate will be able to support with marking books and other maths based administrative tasks.
